Visiting Artist - Mixed Media Designer Jamie Dougherty

It's official!!! Jamie Dougherty will be teaching her amazing work in 2 workshops in August.

Jamie has been involved in the arts since her late teens. She is a self taught artist and her skills range anything from fine arts, mixed media, all the way to graphic design.

Jamie has been in the crafting industry for the past ten years and has had her first signature collection produced with Prima Marketing Inc, called the Bloom Collection. Her collection stemmed off of her Fine art pieces which have been lovingly dubbed "Bloom Girls". Jamie's Bloom Girls have become a signature of her's and she teaches Bloom Girl workshops internationally.

 

She has a love for art but her creativity doesn't stop there, she is also an independent author who currently has three books published on Amazon and Barnes & Nobles with more to come.

Papercrafting with Mariana in March

Mariana has her next class on display in store and you will love it!!!!!

This adorable mini album is filled with pocket pages, envelopes, tags, journaling cards and features the not yet released Kaisercraft Kaleidoscope collection.  We are so excited to be able to secure early shipment of this release so you can be one of the first to play with it in Victoria!!  Mariana will be showing you how to use the new Kaiser envelope templates, play with texture stamps and so many more of her unique and very cool mini able construction techniques. 

This album would make an awesome Mother's Day gift, be a perfect present or simply a new addition to your personal creative collection.

The Class will run on Saturday March 29th from 9am to 5pm.  Cost is $140.00 which includes the album, a set of stamps, and all other materials. A deposit of $50 is required at the time of booking.

Something Something with Sharon

Fabulous February just keep getting better each day!  Sharon has revealed the project for her very first BRAND NEW "Something Something" class.  This double page layout is just beautiful and has a travel theme that would suit any destination and photo/memory you have.

In the class you will make a two page layout that can be put in an album, photo frame or you can split the pages and use them in two different albums. The class will run Thursday 13th February from 7pm -9pm, cost is $30 and here is a sneak peek (the samples are on display in the store).

Places are filling fast so ring and book in today.  Payment is required at the time of booking and we accept credit card payment over the phone.

Papercrafting With Mariana - March Class Calendar Change!

Just a quick post to let you know that Mariana's March Class has been changed to now run on Saturday 29th March from 9am - 5pm.  Some ladies were going to have to miss the class as they would have been away on retreat and we just can't have that!!!  Mariana is busily designing her March project and from what we have discussed it is going to be another stunner!!!  and not to be missed.

We still have some places available in her February 22nd class and here is another sneak peek to tempt you.  The actual project is on display in store.  A $50 deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance to be paid before the workshop begins.

Cards Class with Leanne

This week saw the last Cards Classes with Leanne run for 2013. 
Thank you to all the regular ladies who came to class and had also been to all or most of the classes throughout 2013.  We hope you enjoyed the mystery class project.  Here is what the ladies made. A beautiful Christmas decoration and gift bag.

Leanne will be returning to teach classes at Scrappy Hollow in 2014 and class bookings are now open for all of her classes.  As was the case last year Leanne's classes for 2014 are filling fast so if you would like to book in please call us in the store ASAP.

 

The first classes s for 2014 will run on Wednesday February 19th from 10 am to 12 noon and Thursday 20th February from 7pm -to 9pm.  Cost is $25.

 

In the February class you will create three "love themed" cards and you will learn how to:

· Use MFT inset dies and peek a boo dies to create  card backgrounds

· Create a shaker card using MFT insta frame die

· Make hand stitched embellishments with MFT layered heart die

· Use pearls, sequins and punched confetti to add scattered accents on cards

· Create dainty paper bows

· Create a wrapped twine wreath to highlight embellishments

· Different ways to mount card onto the card base

December Classes at Scrappy Hollow

For many of our classes at Scrappy Hollow November is the month of the final class for 2013 however, we are lucky enough to be able to offer you two classes in December with the wonderfully talented Sharon.

Scrap the Boys

Running Wednesday December 4th from 10am to 12 noon and on Thursday November 5th from 7pm to 9pm.  Cost $30.00

This class although called Scrap the Boys, offer you the opportunity to create a double page layout that will suit any Christmas photos you have not just the boys ones.

The samples are on display in store and bookings are being taken in person or over the phone.  Full payment is required at the time of booking.  Here are some snippets of the gorgeous layouts you will make.

 

Vintage

Sharon will also be running her popular Vintage Class in December on Thursday 12th from 7pm - 9pm and on Saturday 14th from 10am - 12 noon. Cost is $35.00

This class is a must for those wanting to document their treasured family photos.  Buttons, inking, tags, chipboard and more are used to enable you to create a double page layout to showcase those beautiful vintage photos in your collection.  The layouts would also suit modern photos or those you have turned to sepia colour.

The samples are on display in store and bookings are being taken in person or over the phone.  Full payment is required at the time of booking.  Here are some snippets of the gorgeous layouts you will make.

October Class

This week Sotty has unveiled her much requested Tags in a Jar class featuring some absolutely stunning tags, envelopes and mini gift cards this class is going to sell out quickly.

Classes will run Thursday October 24th from 7pm - 9pm and on Friday Octover 25th from 10am - 12 noon.  Cost is $25.  Payment is required at the time of booking.

NEW CLASS!!!!!

Sotty will also be running an additional cards class featuring some gorgeous vintage Christmas Cards.   This class will run on Thursday 14th November from 7pm - 9pm and on Friday 22nd November from 10am - 12 noon.  Cost will be $25 and payment is required at the time of booking.

September Vintage Class

Septembers Vintage Class is devine!!!!

This month the lovely and talented Sharon will introduce you to the use of texture paste on layouts together with some new ideas on incorporating journaling, pockets/envelopes and wooden accents on your pages.

The two page layout is now on display in store and the classes will run on Thursday September 8th from 7pm - 9pm and on Saturday September 10th from 10am to 12 noon.  Cost is $35 and payment is required at the time of booking.

We have had two new classes preview this week. 

Geraldine in the Morning

First up the amazing Geraldine has created another stunning layout for her September Morning Class.

The class will run on Wednesday September 11th from 9.30am - 11.30.  Cost is $30.00

This layout has many elements, will give you techniques to carry through to other layouts and of course you are creating a layout which is uniquely designed by Geraldine.

Bookings can be made in person or over the pnone and full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place and kit.

 

Mini Album with Sotty

Sotty has designed a gorgeous shabby chic style min album to create with you in October.  This is an additional class to her regular monthly cards class.

 

Running on Saturday October 26th from 9.30am - 5.00pm this class will give you many new ideas for distressing, journaling and incorporating pockets and tags into your projects.  The mini album is made using a pre-cut mini album so all you have to do is have fun decorating it!

 

A $50.00 deposit is required to reserve your place and the total cost of the album will be confirmed with you at the time of booking and balance is payable one week before the class runs.

Vintage Class for August

The lovely and talented Sharon has created a gorgeous two page Vintage inspired class for August featuring the stunning Kaisercraft Miss Empire Collection.  Suitable for wither male, female or group photos this class is a must.  Learn inking, layering and distressing techniques which you can use on other projects and creations.

The Class is running on Thursday August 8th from 7pm - 9pm or on Saturday August 10th from 10am - 12 noon.  Class cost is $35.00 and payment is required at the time of booking.

A Day with Geraldine

Geraldine has begun to reveal her sample layouts for her next "A Day with Geraldine" Class.  This class will provide you with the opportunity to complete 4 to 5 layouts which are uniquely designed by the very talented Geraldine and will feature many techniques and ideas that you can carry through to your other layouts and creations.  Here is a sneak peak of the first layout you will create featuring the Kaisercraft Sweet Pea collection the full page is up on display in store:

The class will run on Sunday August 25th from 9.30 am to 5pm.  Cost is $125.00 and a $50 deposit is required at the time of booking.

 

Geraldine in the Morning

Geraldine's next morning class is a stunner!  Featuring a layout from the Kaisercraft basecoat collection this class will give you a chance to play with background layering techniques, chipboard, ink and more. Her class will run Wednesday August 7th from 9.30 am to 11.30am and the cost is $30.00. Full payment is required at the time of booking

Leanne's Cards Class News

This week saw Leanne's card classes run at Scrappy Hollow.  Thank you to everyone who came along to class or ordered a kit.

This class will be very technique focused and time will be spent learning new ways to distress/grunge up card borders, tie off buttons, finish off hand made banner pieces and also creating hand cut & punched embellishments.  Samples of the finished cards are on display in store now!

Kids Paper Piecing

Saturday July 6th, 10 am to 11.30am - $20

Your child will make this very cool journal book for that special man in their life.  They will learn how to cover the journal, make tabs and embellishments with die cut accents pieces and attach a book mark to the journal's spine.

Definitely a fun class which will allow them to create many more after they learn the techniques with Sam.

 

 

Scrap the Boys with Sharon

 

Wednesday 31st July 10am - 12 noon or Thursday August 1st 7pm - 9pm - $30

 

Sharon return with another awesome Scrap the Boys class, although the layouts are so versatile you could use them for any occasion!

 

This class will provide you with the opportunity to create two layouts that work well as a double page spread or can be used a two stand alone pages in your album.

 

Learn how to layer embellishments, use papers to create page elements, how to incorporate embellishments to add dimension to you layouts and more.

 

 

All the samples for these classes are on display in store so head on in and take a look, book your place and enjoy!

Cards with Sotty for July

Sotty's next card classes will run on Thursday July 25th from 7pm - 9pm and Friday July 26th from 10am to 12noon.

As usual Sotty will show you how to create some truly stunning cards and an envelope using the gorgeous Kaisercraft Sweet Pea collection.  Learn how to layer up trims and flowers, ink, layer embellishments and more.

Leanne's Card Class Update!

Thank you to everyone who came to my card's classes this week. It was so lovely to see everyone again and to watch you make this months cards.  It was also nice to welcome some new card makers as well. I love teaching and thank you all for supporting me by attending classes.  Here is what we made:
